I am trying the W/Rit build to farm the initial cutthroats in HM but have not had much success. One problem is that they interrupt when you are casting VwK.

Edit: I was able to do it one and died twice. But no good drops yet. Gonna try with full team now.

I think the best build for farming moddok is with your 55hp Monk as with second a dervish--> for mystic rrgen...

I only have a Warrior Char at the moment.

The main problem is that they throw those traps.

What you can do is take your heroe monk as a bonder, and get fully bonded. You go as a W/D and you take mystic regen, maybe then you get lucky

well i tried doing this as a mo/d with prot spirit, mystic regen, soj, heal breeze, shielding hands, essence bond, bal spirit and blessesd aura and it doesnt seem to work, they always have enough degen to kill you. I have tried switching out shielding hands for zealots fire and it doesnt make a difference. You just cant counter the degen..

Well I personally farm Moddok with a dead sword farming build. I can do it and still kill Dunkoro at the beginning after the speech starts.

For moddok theres no need for melandrus tank, All you need to do is kill the 6 guys in the start.

A W/RT can easily do this, just use bonetti's or shield stance of a cover b4 u use vengeful
add in cyclone axe for a nice way to get adrenline.

I'm sure a Rt/me could easily do this too.

But since hardmode came out there has been a HUGE increase of colossal drops... req 11 are going for about 100k+65e where as a week ago they were going for 100k+90e

its funny I love it

Funny to YOU maybe. I actually found out that zhelon reach had lots of colossal drops in normal mode. Im guessing that there is lots of them in hard mode too. I bet not many people hav tried it .

I've been trying Istan hard Mode aswell, I have some nice drops

Too bad for me A while ago I found a collosal scimitar and Did not know there worth and since I always Merch everything T_T.

And so I stay poor....

ya but IStan would probably have good drops seeing as Low Lvl Monsters do not drop alot of loot (eg. Pre-searing Dye Farming) and Hardmode Increasing the Quality ( so max/near max swords possible).....heh

My views on scimitar farming:

Doing Moddok atm, Farming with a Stygian trapper. Had great drops at awesome farm-times (1.5-2 minutes per run).

Simply place your traps in front of the captain, deny his help, kill (takes 5 sec max), repeat.

(btw, to save (thinking)time, I let donkuro take the spirits and take spike/tripw/flame trap myself)

critique!

You do realise that if u accept the corsair guy's help, walk a bit further, another 18 corsair rangers spawn to attack u, along with those 6....... right?

With the ele build I posted in the other thread, you can kill the corsairs in Crevice. Works for every other position that does not have monks as well.

Energy Boon [E]
Sliver Armor
Armor of Earth
Aftershock
Kinetic Armor
Stoneflesh Aura
Mystic Regeneration
Earth Attunement

Template Code: OgpjkwM5aOFNXBPsUYK+qs3UBA

The reason for Earth Prayers at 9 instead of 8 is that the corsairs spam weakness on you, effectively lowering your attributes by 1. And if you would be at your breakpoint, it would really break you because your regeneration would suddenly be a lot less.

Keep in mind that it is still work in progress but once you get it down it's fast enough. If your emangement is very good you can take Sandstorm instead of Boon but keep in mind the amount of enchantments you have to manage. The run is easy enough: Go in, flag Dunkoro away and accept the captains offer. Halfway you start casting your enchantments and from that moment on keep them up at every time possible (spam mystic regen if you must).
The captain has interrupts so you need to kill him first. Be aware that once combat starts he'll throw his net and then immediately follows with disrupting throw. So wait for that to happen and then cast Sliver Armor. For some reason sliver armor allways targets the captain first and thus he is done for. Next step is to lure the melees away, they inflict cripple and weakness.
After you've killed the melees all you have to do is head backwards a bit so the rangers ball up and then sit down in their midst, spamming sliver armor and aftershock.
Oh well, tap energy boon whenever you need some quick energy and try to avoid the Mandragors which can easily own you with their armor ignoring damage and interrupts.

/edit:
Yes it's rune country. They drop lots and lots of rare runes as well as radiant runes.

Farming corsairs in the start of moddok is a good idea now... all lvl 20 easily soloed by a w/rt I 've tried a few runs with a full 8 party team and flagged them away so there names are in grey, gold or purple drop every run, sup vigor and bloodstained insignia but no colossal yet

But just wait the prices should start falling big time!!!!
do you decline the help from him or do u solo the mob that comes and ambushes you?

Ya, I remember u posting that build in the other thread Kas. I just had one question on it that I didnt get to ask in the other thread. Why don't you use Mind Blast instead of energy boon? Great for energy, and because of the two second recharge it will keep your kinetic armor up while also doing damage.

This is the build that I use to solo all 16 corsairs Rt/me
16 Restoration
12 inspiration

Arcane echo
VWK
Vengeful weapon
Mend body and soul
Wielder's boon
Resilient weapon
Channeling
Physical resistance.

Cast RW when your third vwk running out, and get the bonus on WB.

I use a +5e +30hp sword and -5(20%) +30hp shield. (a +45 enc shield might be better)

Unfortunately for me no colossal for me yet but got 2 sup vigors.
